Ethan Andrews
I am a psychology graduate student with experience in administering psychometrics and supporting psychological assessments.
I recently completed an Honors Psychology degree from the University of Alberta. As part of my undergraduate studies, I completed a yearlong internship at Millard Health, where I administered psychometrics and biofeedback services to clients facing workplace barriers due to physical injuries and psychological conditions. This internship provided me with a glimpse into the work of a psychologist, and my passion for pursuing this profession only grew. I also participated in other opportunities throughout my studies, where I provided care and companionship to group home residents at Alberta Hospital and volunteered at various mental health clinics.
Throughout my studies, I have taken a special interest in childhood and adolescent development. Through research opportunities in my undergrad, I explored how mental health influences children’s peer relationships and academic outcomes. This is an area I am passionate about and hope to incorporate into my future practice.
I have decided to continue my studies overseas and pursue an MSc in Clinical and Developmental Neuropsychology at Bournemouth University. This program will provide me with additional training opportunities, including coursework on the neuroscience behind neurodevelopmental disorders in childhood, a practicum placement conducting neuropsychological assessments on brain injury and stroke clients, and a dissertation. I intend to return to Alberta next year to continue my studies and potentially pursue a doctoral degree to prepare for becoming a Registered Psychologist in Alberta. I hope one day to work as a psychologist, with a special focus on conducting psychological assessments.

Psychological Assessment and Testing
I am a Registered Psychologist (and Certified Educator) with more than 24 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I earned my Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Clinical, School & Community Psychology from the University of Calgary in 2005, and have also attained Master of Science (1998, University of Calgary), Bachelor of Education (1990, University of Lethbridge), and Bachelor of Arts (1984, University of Alberta) degrees. My experience encompasses public, clinical, and private educational settings providing assessment (cognitive and social-emotional testing), consultation, and remedial intervention to children, adolescents, and adults in the areas of Specific Learning Disorders, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Intellectual Disabilities, Giftedness, and Mood Disorders, to name a few. Additionally, I am actively involved in the training and supervision of graduate students in the provision of psycho-educational services in a school-based setting, bringing to this work a background rich in diverse, and multicultural educational issues.
In addition to assessment, my training also includes providing mental health services for children and adolescents in a large public school system in Western Canada with a wide range of mental health issues including anxiety and panic disorders, depression and other mood disorders, trauma and PTSD, attention deficit disorders, anger management, identity transformation, self-esteem issues, and eating disorders. I use a strength-based neuroscience-driven approach, one that provides assistance and guidance, while focusing on the resources, strength, and problem-solving potentials of both the individual and the family. I believe that change is possible for every child and family with hope, belief, and consistent purposeful micro actions. While I recognize that therapy can be demanding, I am convinced that the effort invested is ultimately rewarding.
I have served on various professional committees and Boards, and have presented at a number of conferences locally, nationally and internationally. I am a member of the College of Psychologists of BC, the College of Alberta Psychologists Association, and the Canadian Psychological Association. Outside of work, you can find me outdoors in nature enjoying sports like running, hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and skiing; reading; and/or hanging out with my significant other and beloved two furry companions, Ryeli and Jaspr.

I am a Psychometrist who assists clinicians with completing psychological testing and assessments.
I recently received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Linguistics at the University of Alberta and am currently completing my Certificate in Level B Assessments at City University.
During my undergraduate degree, I completed an internship working as a psychological assistant at another psychology practice. Here I worked closely with assessment clinicians, their clients, and teachers, acting as the primary point of contact throughout the assessment process and helping to manage case files. My duties also included sending, receiving, and generating various questionnaires, scoring Level B assessment tools, developing psychological resources/templates, data entry, and proofreading final reports.
I recognize the crucial role of assessments in treatment planning and strongly believe in the value of a multidisciplinary support team.
I’ve also been fortunate to work in a position from the treatment side of things as I was previously a behavioral interventionist at the Centre for Autism Services Alberta. As a part of a multidisciplinary team, my role was to carry out the program goals and objectives of my child client’s treatment plan, collecting data, documenting their treatment progress, and creating a positive reinforcement environment.
Working alongside psychologists from an assessment and treatment perspective has provided me insight into the complex journey many of our clients take, as they navigate the assessment process, new diagnosis(‘), and the lifestyle adjustments that can come with it. I hold a lot of respect and love for the team of clinicians, teachers, and family involved in supporting these people through their journeys and wish to offer my support, both in an administrative and psychometry capacity, but also emotionally and humanistically.
During my undergraduate studies, I developed a keen interest in child development, language development, communication disorders, and bilingualism. As a result, next year, I hope to pursue a master’s degree in either speech-language pathology or psychology with a focus on assessments.

Psychological Assessment and Testing
I specialize in Psychological Testing and Assessments for children, youth, and adults.
I hold a Master of Education degree in School and Applied Child Psychology from the University of Calgary. Since the completion of my graduate studies, my expertise and interest lie in assessing and addressing the unique needs of children, youth, and adults within educational and clinical settings. I have training, and supervision in conducting psychological assessments in the areas of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Intellectual Disabilities, Specific Learning Disorders, Anxiety, and Depression.
My goal while working with every client, is to provide useful information, tailored recommendations, and create a space in which you feel comfortable asking questions, learning about the assessment and outcome, and feel confident applying the shared information in your everyday life.
I stem from a highly collaborative and strength-based approach in order to make you feel involved and supported.
It is my belief that in order to make a true impact, there needs to be collaboration with multiple people who impact an individual’s life. Working with, and collaborating with parents, families, teachers, and involved healthcare professionals is a key step towards making positive change. The relationship that is created during an assessment needs to have a foundation of trust, respect, and compassion.
My goal for anyone who walks through my door is that they leave feeling more confident, understood, supported, and equipped with the knowledge they need in order to better learn, grow, advocate, and making positive changes.
I have multiple years of experience supporting individuals, families, and schools through the challenges they face and have a strong appreciation for the challenges you may be experiencing. Additionally, my experience working in various settings with these different populations provides me with a valuable skill in truly being able to empathize different points of view and tie that experience together to ensure everyone feels heard, supported, and understood.
